The Critical Pedagogical Folk High School is a newly established organization in Denmark which aims at creating a critical folk high school by 2019. In only a short period of time, the school has become a popular organization with a strong base in the welfare professions and pedagogical fields.
It was last winter of 2016; I decided to be part of Tata Institute of Social sciences (TISS), Mumbai. I never heard about it so far in my entire life. I appeared for the entrance exam, cleared it. I proceeded further for my interview and later on, I got selected out of a pool of competing students in India.
We say no to the end of history, we say no to accepting that what we have now is the best we can get. We do so by being critical, we do so by looking at things again, by examining the structures that determine how we live, and by pointing to alternative ways of doing things – alternative ways of learning and alternative readings of history, society and the people who live in it.
